replace runflats with standard tyres?

Hi all

I have owned my 54 cooper s since november last year, and i love my car but the ride is horrible over pot holes and tram lines. It feels like the car will drop to bits when you hit some holes!
I am trying to find out whether its worth replacing rsc with standard tyres but have come across so many differring opinions that i'm a bit lost as to what to do. I don't want to compromise the handling etc but long for my lovely mini to be a little more refined.
Can anyone advise on what to do, and if you have done it, exactly what difference does it make?

I changed to normal tyres for the same reasons and ride, grip and handling were all improved, also the tyres are cheaper!

I would prefer non runflats, but from a safety perspective, I'll stick to runflats. I don't want to get stuck somewhere dodge even with a tyre sealant package.

Cooper or One owners can always fit the optional spacesaver spare wheel:
