England engine light

hi all !
my engine light came on a few weeks back .Took it to a main dealer near me and they run a few tests.Came up as needing a new cat price£1250 didnt have it done due to price !the lights gone off today anny ideas???????????? thanks all

Ouch! Mine came on last night and im hoping it's not the same problem. It only comes on when sat in traffic

the small yellow light goes on when the emission sensors give any unusual reading. It takes 3 independent journeys without unusual readings to go off again. That's what a BMW emergency services technician told me last week. He fixed my coil but said he doesn't need to reset warning as it will turn off after 3 trips which it did.

Everything from a dead spark plug to a kat problem can cause emmision sensors to freak out.

Smile Engine light problems

Could be dpf problems. Try using dpf cleaner worked for me. Type dpf cleaner into ebay costs £20.

Hope you get it sorted

Not if it's a Cooper S Which it seems to be.
