reverse light

Hi, first post so be gentle. Just got a 53 mini cooper s and have discovered reverse light dont work however when in gear i tapped the light and it came on. Took it out of reverse and put it back in and it wasnt working again! Now when i tap it the light just flickers. Could this still be a prob with switch as that looks like something i can do. Thanks john

Could be the switch, or a loose connection.
Maybe even a dirty/corroded connection.
Try the simple faults first.

a bloke at work seems to think it could be bulb or connection as it did work when you hit the lense, if it was switch he doubt it would work at all. my problem is how you remove the bulb and holder, all i can find on here is how to do it on other models, on the cooper s the exhaust is in the way! any ideas? thanks in advance
