Car keeps unlocking itself

Hi, i've noticed recently that our Min is unlocking itself. Left it in a carpark today and locked the door then as I was walking away I heard it unlock. The re-locked it (with fob), lights flashed as norm and when I returned an hour later it was unlocked again. Happened after that too. Don't think the fob button is depressing in my pocket as it's quite a firmpress required anyway... Any ideas please?

Could be battery (make sure your battery holds a good charge), or BC1 dampness. It does sound like a common problem, not one I've had with my R50 though.

If you have Another key try using that Incase the fob is bad
The body control unit is another good place to start it located in the drivers foot well right hand side behind the trim.
From what I have been told the early minis never had a plastic guard to help stop the water getting in the bc unit and the plugs it's well worth checking it out.
The bc is a culprit for a lot of faults
