2003 Mini Started but Stalls when Gas is Pressed

First off I've had troubles like many with my car dropping RPM's on braking and starting funny when cold. These never seemed to be huge problems just more of a Mini "quirk".

A couple weeks ago I drove my car home for lunch and it started a bit weird (doing that a lot lately) but ran fine. Upon returning to my car a couple hours later it would turn over but not start. I ended up checking the forums and started testing things. There was no fuel pressure so I replaced the fuel pump and filter(completely black) since the pump was making no noise whatsoever.

As soon as I added the new fuel pump and cycled the engine a few times it started, choked a bit, then caught up and idled. We let it run for a good 20 minutes and were about to take it for a quick test drive to make sure it was working correctly. As soon as I stepped on the gas more than a little bit it started stumbling, made a loud pop noise and died. THEN would not start. It the pump makes noise like its working but just turns over.

There are no lights or warnings coming on.

Does anyone have any luck with something like this?

What models is you car

I take it you have check the spark plug, air filter , fuses under bonnet and in your foot well
Have you had the car plugged in to a diagnostic tool at all, as not all problems bring on the fault lights.
