United-Kingdom Engine Gearbox Loose Causing Yo yo or Bouncing effect and Clutch Jolting or Juddering

I have a weird feeling when taking my foot off the throttle and I was wondering if anyone might know the cause of it.
When I am driving along in third gear at about 3500-4000 revs and take my foot off the accelerator it feels like for a slight second the car free rolls before using the engine to slow down. It then engages with the engine for a split second again before feeling like free rolling again.
So it feels like its bouncing between using the engine to slow down and then rolling if that makes any sense.
In my head its what I would image it to do if the engine was loose and was rocking between making contact with the drive train and then not. Not being overly technical I'm not really sure at which point there could be wear or excessive play to cause this.
My Car is a 53 Plate Sept 2003 Mini Cooper R50 that has done 95,000 miles.
Hope someone can suggest points at which wear might occur to cause this after having covered this many miles.
I think my clutch is also beginning to wear as when pulling away after driving for a long time and the car has warmed up the clutch judders when being engaged. This causes the car to jolt along. If anyone might know another reason why this might happen please let me know. Thank you. Paul

Have you checked the engine mounts? The rubber can split or some types can lose their oil filling causing the engine to rock back and forth under load.

I haven't checked them but what you are saying would make sense it is kind of a rocking motion. When fully accelerating it feels like everything in engaged and you power forward like you would expect. When you let your foot off the accelerator and the car slows down it feels like it gets to a point where the engine bounces slightly giving a slight slow fast slow fast slow fast feel or engaged unengaged engaged unengaged feel for a couple of seconds. I'll check the mounts the car has cover 96k miles. Had the dreaded power steering pump failure last week and got that sorted now bought a new one and fitted it. Thank for your reply.
