05 Cooper S works - metalic rattle from exhaust - bushes?

Hi Guys,

I've noticed a tinny rattle coming from the back box area of the exhaust, as if, whilst vibrating, its hitting something.

I've sort of figured that there must be too much movement, and concluded that changing the bushes might cure it. Problem is, I cannot find a set of exhaust bushes anywhere on the internet. Does such a thing exist? and also are they specific to the Works tuning kit, or will they be the same as the standard Cooper S bushes.

I'll be honest, I haven't pin-pointed the noise yet, so it might not be the answer, but for what they cost, I figure it'll be worth swapping them.

Ta
James

Could be a loose baffle inside the box too?

I agree... I reckon this is most likely now to be honest, I really can't see that its actually hitting anything. Can't say I'll be bothering to change that, £500 plus fitting is far to steep... might have to just turn the radio up!

Will have a look at those sites... cheers!!!

Check the clearence between the battery sheild and the tail pipes, if the exhaust drops slightly or the sheild gets bent up they can knock together, it's quite flexible just pulling down on it slightly will increase the clearence.
