Hi this is the first time I have been on here so please be kind to me!!
My 52 plate Mini Cooper D Engine Management light came on over the weekend and it lost almost all power. I managed to drive it to the garage at 20 mph all the way! They have called me back and said the diagnosis said it was an accelerator pedal problem. They have got the light off and now its running fine! The mechanic has driven it around and there seems to be no problem!
Yes they have probably reset what was at fault and will be fine. What what you can find is this may happen again, if they wrote the error code down and next time this happens if it's the same code they know what to change or clean ect.
But maybe it will never happen again. Good luck
Thanks for that James. I thought It cant be right that the car was hardly drivable and all it took was to reset the fault. Thought they were trying it on! (happens a lot with me)
I have a R50 2002 mini cooper. Just had this happen to me the EML light and the service engine light came on. So I grabbed my Peake fault code reader and plugged it in. The code I got was P1683. Any ideas as to what this means?????
How do I reset the fault? Just clear it out with the fault code reader???
