Had the actuator changed a couple of weeks ago on wife's 53 plate Cooper as driver's door would lock but not unlock via fob. All fine since then until today!! The door won't open from the outside but is fine from the inside. Assume something has come adrift inside but before I take the door card off was wondering if anyone has had this happen and knows what to look for?
i've had the exact same issue, having to take some days off work due to surgery and come to take the car for a spin and the drivers door wouldnt open, tried it again and it worked fine, managed to get myself locked into the car when the drivers inside lever wouldnt work either, any cures for this?
Did you use a brand new door actuator or a second hand unit?
Is the door actually unlocking? You can unlock manually unlock from inside , this is obviously a safety feature.
If the door is unlocking then possibly the cable has come loose from the actuator , you have one that fits for the interior handle and one for the exterior , if not fitted correctly this could pop out of place meaning the door handle would do nothing.
