DIY Intermittent Rev

Hi

I have a 2002 Mini One, recently whilst driving I noticed the rev counter behaving most oddly! on changing gear from 3rd to 4th, the needle went nearly to the red, (not because of my driving, I hasten to add) then dropped to zero, there it hovered for a while, then seemed to right itself, it is still happening, now I also have the problem of the car opening itself and the windows after locking on the key fob.
I have tried all the suggestions for the central locking/window, the problem has eased slightly, in the respect it stays closed a bit longer!!, I now am toying with the noton of taking the central locking fuse out and just using the key, but this does not alter the fact that there is a problem.
I would appreciate any help on these matters, has anyone else had the Rev counter problem too, if so, would like to know how to overcome it

Thanks and regards

D

Probably due to all the rain we've been having, water logged.
