Heavy steering and noise!

Im not sure if this is just a 'Mini' thing or if I need it checking out.

I have just got my first Mini Cooper 52 plate. The steering feels a lot heavier than any other cars I have owned and when Im driving a low speeds it make a whistling noise. Its not so bad that I cant drive it its just a lot heavier than my other car (Peugeot 307) Is it nomal????

Yes it is normal.....the Mini is considered a 'sporting' car with drivers who prefer more direct 'go kart' steering feel and more road feedback. Whining noise is also normal on earlier Mini's......only worry if it goes quiet and the steering gets extremely heavy as it means the power steering pump has stopped working!

salve ho appena acquistato una mini r 53 quando curvo sento come delle palline metalliche che vanno da una parte a l'altra all'interno dello sterzo vorrei sapere di che si tratta grazie
