i need a new ecu

hi guys, i have a first generation mini cooper s on a 2004 plate...
i need a new ecu in short terms, any body no roughly how much this will cost? i have a mechanic who works at the local bmw dealer so it will be a genuin part so im guessing not cheap... let me no guys please.....

If you go into sites such as BMWMINI parts you can put your car details in and then find the part you want from the list and get a current price for a genuine new unit.
