Newbie Mini Owner! Help??

Hi, i have just bought a mini cooper s (2005) i paid £2,000 for it and its got 36k on the clock the only problem is that it is CAT D!

the damage is too the engine were the previous owner has driven it through a deep puddle resulting in the engine stopping! its all dry inside and the electrics and all work fine..

im just has any one else had a water damaged mini engine? it does not try to turn over and there is no compression when i have tested it. i am going to take it apart on weekend. just wondering what can i expect. really dont want to fork out for a whole new engine :/

also is the cooper engine the same? just the s got a supercharger strapped to it?

thanks

Nathan

Reports are more prevalent from Cooper owners.

From the Owner's Manual:
Quote:
Do not drive through water on the road if it is deeper than 1 ft / 30 cm, and then only at walking speed at the most. Otherwise, the vehicle's engine, the electrical systems and the transmission
may be damaged.
