I have a 2004 cooper s and what to confirm these models all have auto sensored head lights first?
Secondly if so I presume I have to leave the stalk on the on position and the car sensor will turn then on and off when the light is correct etc. at the moment I'm having to do it manually as they are not coming on or going off automatically although the auto wipers do work. Any ideas pls how or if I can fix this/ turn them on?
Auto headlights was, I believe, an 'option'.
If you have them, you'll have an 'A' on the stalk below the off position.
There's also another factory option which mine also has. That if you leave the stalk in the 'headlights on' position, then remove the key from the ignition, the headlights go off but sidelights stay on.
