Hi,
Unfortunately my first post
My 2003 Mini Cooper s cooling fans are suffering from the failed resistor on the low speed fan. I've had the digital temp gauge up on the speedo area to test and it went past 106c to 111c without the fan coming on. As soon as I switched the car off what I'm guessing is the high speed fan came on then went off again once the temp hit 106c.
Firstly will it have done damage going up to 111c?
Can anyone recommend a place in the UK to get a new fan with new resistors?
Also, I saw a slight damp patch in the top corner of the radiator and as the temp rose to 111c it had ever such slight steam coming out from where the damp was. Could this indicate more damage?
The car has full service history all stamped so I'm a little gutted at the minute, hoping it isn't going to be too much of a costly job.
Thanks and I look forward to your responses
