Power steer pump carbon brushes

I've opted to rebuild the pump for my brother to save him cash. It's from a 51 plate Cooper. The pump is out and as indicated was full of the carbon dust that seems to plague these failures. The carbon brushes are worn so will need replaced. Does anyone have a link for replacement parts please?

I doubt you can buy them separately, they are not listed in the parts manual, as it will do them out of selling you a recon unit I expect.
Best I would imagine would be to take a brush down to a company who rewinds and rebuilds motors and see if they have something suitable you can buy from them??

I know what you mean. It's probably entirely servicable - so I will persevere. I've stripped down trim and tilt pumps (boat engines), and used motorbike brushes, as the brushes weren't available as a dealer part. I found this German company at bozela.com

No doubt I'll need to order a minimum quantity!

I'll remove the brushes and get some statistics. Can't be that difficult. Need to order a T27 bit to remove the armature from the pump.
