Windshield pitting

Is there anything that can be done about minor windshield pits?

After a fantastic drive through the mountains in Colorado, I discovered that my MINI had paid a price for all of my driving fun. The windshield was peppered with tiny pits from all of the gravel that was thrown by other vehicles. None of these are big enough or deep enough to become cracks, but the pitting is across the entire windshield. It is mostly an issue of vanity, but I would really like to fix this if it is possible.

There's a windshield and glass polishing kit available from www.eastwoodcompany.com which is mainly used to remove light scratches, but may be effective on very small dinks. I've used it and it works well, just takes alot of patience and care. Otherwise, you may want to check with a professional windshield or glass shop to see if they could polish it.

Anytime, Wonder. BTW, if you do get this kit and try it, it makes a real, and I mean REAL mess! The compound really splatters around, so you'll want to cover the rest of your car with bedsheets, plastic, etc. while doing it.
