Just had my window motor drivers side replaced the other day. sometimes it worked sometimes it just clicked and didnt work. Dealer was good, replaced it under warranty.

Since then it has been fine but in todays 30+c heat it has a very high pitch squeek as the window nears the top when going up. Not hot here too often so doesnt bother me too much yet

Does anyone have any additional experience with this problem?

2 days ago, my driver's window would not operate either. Stuck in the up position - no drop down feature - would not work with toggle or convenience opening.

2 days later, it starts working again, like magic!

Is replacing the motor the answer? I am scheduled for service in a week.

Thanks for your replies

I'll reply to my own reply then.

Went to dealer. They replaced driver side window motor and regulator under warranty.

Hopefully, problem is a memory.

And another one…driver’s side window. I had to drive 150 miles to the dealer. After they checked the motor, they decided it had to be replaced. But guess what? They didn’t have any in stock. And hence, another road trip when the part comes in.

Just got my '04 MCS out of the body shop today (Missus CalPauly had a bumper bender) and experienced this issue myself. Wasn't doing it when I took it in, so my immediate assumption was some wiring harness that had to be removed (hood damage, though slight, was situated in such a way to require R&R on the whole thing.

I'm about 950miles from it's first service, so I'll just wait til then to have it fixed. Have not had this problem in my '02 MCS.

I have exactly the same problem with the drivers window on my UK 03 MCS. I get that clicking relay sound, but no window action. It is intermittent as well.

Will take to the dealer and claim as a warranty issue. Sounds like I should be asking for a new motor.

Another Victim!

I've only had this happen twice, but both times on hot days (100F, 38C). The first time it fixed itself and has been good for a couple of weeks. Now it's down for the count, no toggle or keyfob action at all, just the double click under the glove box.

Hmmmmm...guess I'm off to the dealers, too.

My right side window was broken for months. Finally got it fixed, and now it does not drop down when the door is opened. So check that when you get it back.

Same problem (click, click but window stays up).
No more warranty on my S so I had a look myself.
I think it must be the motor since there is no movement and no motor whine.

Anyone already done this themselves? If so :
1. Do you know if the motor can be ordered separately ? price? or whether I'll have to get the regulator + motor?
2. Currently a bit puzzled as to how I get to the screws (allen key bolts) off that attach the window glass since it can't drop the window to an easily accessible position.

This thing happened to me twice. It's a known thing and there's a post in the forum that gives the solution, tries searching for it. All you have to do is to perform a series of actions that I think goes as putting the key and turning it into the first position, push the button up and hold it for 15" or more then close the door and start the car, the window resets and operates. I don't remeber it very well so go ahead and find the proper thread.
