Running water sound?

hi guys,

on start up of the wifes Mini Cooper S, if you listen carefully inside the car, you can quite clearly hear what sounds like running water.

Now we have ongoing issues with the car currently and its due back to the garage in the new year once they re-open but i'm intrigued to know if its a problem, or normal.
Never noticed it before we had all the other issues to be honest

Usually air/gas bubbles circulating in the air con and or heater system......if they blow hot and cold no need to worry.

when you dip the throttle, the water sound then "whooshs". Aircon/heater is off

Even though the heater/air con is off this only shuts the ventilation flaps, the heater coolant and/or aircon gas continues to circulate around the system, if engine revs increase the water pump speeds up so this may be the sound you hear as fluid circulation rate increases.

Ah ok, thanks for the feedback.
So can you normally hear this inside a mini cooper S?

I only ask, as never noticed it before, but due to the problems we are having with it, its kind of made it more obvious!

Bear in mind, the car is still mis-firing on start up (and has white smoke coming from the exhaust). It's just had a head gasket change (and had various air leaks prior, which have also been fixed now i think)

Some seem to make this sound occasionally without any other issues but if it is excessive it could perhaps be related to your other problems.....any feedback from the garage yet?

Well.......The garage think it might have a cracked block and thats why the car is still misfiring/blowing white smoke......

Sounds a bit drastic......maybe worth getting a second opinion from an independent Mini specialist?

it's been to the local mini garage (the garage the car is with, took it there as they know someone who works there).
Re-conditioned engine is the next step (the place i bought the car is footing the bill thankfully)
