DIY Central Locking Problem

Hi, Hoping someone can give me much needed advice.. I recently purchased my 2004 Mini One D beginning of Dec and when I got it central locking was working on/off and I said it to dealer as I bought via garage and it was left in to be fixed, needless to say after 2 weeks I got it back and only worked for a day so annoyed and let down by dealer.. Problem is: Key won't lock/unlock passengers door, and switch inside car work for either door.. You can hear it click when you press it but it doesn't do anything... Key fob doesn't work, I have replaced battery which dealer said was all that was wrong but no joy I am now at a loss and have to get it fixed privately and I was wondering does this sound like a big expensive job... Thanks in advance

Do a google search for 'mini2 door actuators' some of the info and links should help.

Changed my drivers door actuator this week, it would always lock with the key remote but never unlock, replacing the actuator solved the problem. You say you can hear the mechanics when you unlock/lock with the key remote so that seems to be working but the actuators not doing their job. Does sound like actuator failure to me. I bought a new 'unused' unit for the drivers side for 64.99 from ebay with a 12month guarantee
