Frozen out...

Abi's MINI was deep frozen last night, and it was a real nightmare getting in and out because the drivers window was covered in ice, and it didn't drop down at all when opening and closing the door, because it was frozen in place.

Annoying, nothing major, but I think I'll be keeping the scrapers outside from now on!

I knew from the beginning that this could happen so I always leave my ice scraper in the trunk/boot. I've considered getting a small hand-sized back up scraper in case the hatch is frozen shut but so far I haven't felt the need for it.

We had some freezing rain up in Our Nation's Capital a few weeks ago and boy was I ever glad the scraper was in the boot! The handles were covered in ice and I had to warm them up with my hand before I could get the door open!

Question

Anyone tried yet folding down a rear seat, climbing in through the hatch, moving the passenger front seat forward and getting into the driver's seat? Possible? Impossible?

I had my window frozen shut on tuesday when it was -14 out that morning.

I am spent forever unthawing the car. It was covered in ice and I had to be really carefull.

The one thing I really love about this car is the heated mirrors and how quick the interior heat comes on.

My mirrors were all steaming which was quite amuzing. The snow and Ice sure melted quick. The windshield also became quite warm as well.

I am still using a nice thick glove to use the shifter in the mornings. Damn thats cold!

Holy Monkey!
