Door Opening

Has anyone experienced difficulties with door opening in the current cold snap?

A friend tried to get out of the passenger side of my car last night when the car was locked. The first opening of the handle took off the deadlocks as normal but the second opening did not open the door. I had to get out of the car and open the door from outside. It seemed stiff - could it be that the mechanism was frozen?

Same happened to me this morning - the window didn't want to move down to make it easier...

moved to faults and fixes for better exposure

If a door window is frosted over, it may not drop as it should when you open the door. It then won't clear the gutter trim. Same thing used to happen on my 3-series coupe. A squirt of de-icer along the bottom edge of the window before attempting to open the door should help.
