Red Cooper Mini is Possessed!! HELP Electric faults I think

Iím new to this Mini2 forum and to the Mini world!

I have a Mini Cooper 51 (R50 I think) yesterday morning she was being strange!

1. I couldnít lock the doors when I was in the car (have dogs and itís just a safety thing I do so they donít get out)
2. the driver window started flicking up and down quickly like someone was flicking the switch
3. the interior light was flashing on and off at the same time as the window flicking

the car drove fine and everything else was fine (was a little embarrassing when sitting in traffic, think people thought i was having a rave!)

no idea if the lights of the car where flashing on and off as I was driving, but I donít think they were, weird thing is it was fine lunchtime and evening but done the same thing again this morning

I really hope someone can help, and I hope itís not expensive as I have already replaced the Battery, Radiator and a small clutch cylinder thing (canít remember the name) all since June 2013 since I brought the car, so lots of money so far!

hope someone can help me figure it out

Hi ya

It sounds like you body control unit is getting wet, or your getting water in to the plug that connects the door to the body.

But I think my money would be on the BCU

The body control unit is located behind the trim in your drivers foot well just forward of the bonnet release, you will need to remove the trim to check it out. If you are getting water in there you need to find the leak.
If your going to do it once you have removed the trim disconnect the battery. disconnect the plugs on the BCU give the a clean and quick spray with Switch cleaner or similar you can get this from maplins dry them out then reconnect the battery.
The later car have a cover that fits over them to help keep the water off the pugs Incase water gets in.

Hope this helps
