Steam under bonnett

I have a Cooper S and I think it is condensing water from the cold air across the intercooler. At times steam comes out of the scoop or the grille. It has only happened a couple of times and is not low on coolant.Has anyone else had this happen??

I've had that happen, but only in the rain at a stoplight or something. Was it raining when this happened to you?

Whatever.

3 times my MCS has been through a touchless car wash, and it steamed like a dragon for about 5 minutes after each time. Likely just heavy condensation on the rad.

Yup, mine does this on colder days in the rain, wet roads, wet snow, after car washes, etc...

if you look at the way the intercooler is exposed directly to air/wetness it's reasonable to assume some steam when things have heated up.

personally I've only noticed it after car washes when i probably have sprayed water directly onto the intercooler.

Mine did this for a while after driving through a flowing river...

Not a bright idea or was it?

Lightbody

I hate to ask the question. Why would you drive your mini through a flowing river? Your Land Rover Disco was in the shop?
