Mini feels flat

Hi have an 02 MCS with a 15% pulley, problem I have is it feels really flat in general driving.
If you rev it at idle it's quite delayed just feels heavy sluggish.
But if you floor it from a standstill once it's got going feels ok,its a part throttle issue.
Also since fitting the pulley and 1 grade colder plugs it just doesant feel as smooth. Could I use standard plugs.
I have done the RESET on the battery and also the Speedo
Any ideas please

I would keep the colder plugs to be on the safe side but they shouldn't really make it less smooth. I would check round & make sure everything is connected properly like vac hoses. What is the air filter like ? It would benefit from a performance filter now you have changed the pulley.
To make it more responsive you could do what they call the VGS mod (Google R53 VGS mod) that made a noticeable difference to mine plus its cheap & easy to do

My mcs was a slug when I got it. Turnt out to be bypass valve. If you know where it is you can check if the spring springs back witch is what you want, I'd deffo get some fuel cleaner and maybe some cat cleaner in in the fuel before spending money. One at a time though
