Puddle versus Airbag light

Does anyone know why driving through a rather large puddle would cause my flipping airbag light to come on?

There was definitely no rough roads to judder the wiring under the seat and neither is there any evidence of water getting into the car - including the battery compartment in the boot.

The car is bone dry inside!

This is a common fault with the early models. I believe only garages can reset the light, Iv read a lot about Bad airbag wiring Looms. If you can don't drive through any big puddles so it could dry ( I don't think is the cause though )
Check the connectors under the seat ( people clean the cars and knock the with the vacuum and just the one second hit could cause a break in the circuit.
Then get it reset, see what the code says too

Hi James,

Thanks for replying. The airbag light has been on a number of times since i bought the car in May last year so i bought a B800 tool.

The error code it always throws up is table 10 code 03 (passenger tensioner firing circuit)

Normally, its the harness under the seats that just need a gentle wiggle and then the light can be reset - sometimes it stays off for days, other times weeks.

There isnt anything wrong with the tensioner(s) so the fault must be the wiring.

However, ive recently re-routed the harnesses and cable tied them to the seat frame inside bubble wrap to allow for some vibration protection and its been off until today when i had to drive through a flooded area (water was below 6 inches in depth) but randomly the airbag light decided to show itself again?!??

As i say, the car is bone dry inside so no chance of water ingress....

Puzzled or what haha
