Manual speedo in automatic car!!

Just had to replace my speedometer to fix a cluster fault and was so excited when this indeed sorted the problem out!!
The problem i have now is i have put a manual set speedo in place of an automatic set up and the display on my rev counter is now stuck on temperature and i cant change it!!Also my gear selection doesn't show on speedo! This isn't a big problem but its the silly things like this that aggitate the life out of me.
I have called company i purchased speedo from and apparently through diagnostic the set up on speedo etc can be changed back to automatic set up (don't know correct term for this)The company can do this but unfortunately they are in doncaster and i am in scotland grr it should cost me around 30 they said but now my problem is i don't know where i can have this done in Edinburgh!
Can anyone point me in the right direction please before i lose my will to live This speedo is the bane of my life!!

I believe your speedo needs "coding". Think of it like the Windows registry, where all configuration settings are stored. Anyone who has a DCAN OBD2 cable can do it, provided he has the correct NCSExpert files. You need to tell the cluster that is installed in an automatic car as it appears the previous car was a manual.

I am not in the UK to tell you exactly who can do it, but it should be a BMW specialist or enthusiast who has that cable and NCSExpert/INPA program on his laptop.
