2005 Mini S acceleration issues....

Greetings one and all. Have a problem with my 2005 Mini Cooper S that I hope some one out there can help with since it seems two dealerships and two other repair places cannot figure out this problem. The cars been sitting for the better part of six months. The car dies out on the freeway or road - the supercharger kicks out and max pedal speed is about 50mph. The current codes are P2122-Throttle Position CKT Low input, P2138 Throttle Position volt correlation.

The car has had a new accel pedal and a new throttle body. I'm thinking that the ECM might be junk in the acceleration circuit but could be wrong.

Ideas? Thanks for any help.

Hi ya

i would start buy checking all you vacum pipe work to the map sensor and the orings on the tmap and map sensors
check all the plastic pipe work in your engine bay these do brake or split causing funny faults

check your bypass valve to and make shore the supercharger intake duct it on properly.

you may have a few problems causing it to throw codes that are not relevant to the actual problem.

failing that if you can hook it up to a diagnostic machine you should be able to activate and operate the throttle and check the peddle assy.
it may be a communication error.
have you had the plugs off on the DME i.e. ECU to check for corrosion
the minis do have a problem with chaffing wires around the ABS and fuse box DME area so might be worth taking a good look at the wiring.

i got my bmw diag stuff from ebay cd and lead 30 just a fiddle loading it if you not good with computers i.e. me :-)

hope this help

ps check you SC belt make shore you can see some of the least hole on the tell tail i have seen funny faults with very bad belt slip
