Rear Parking Sensor Fault

Got a 55 Cooper S convertible once reverse is engaged the parking sensors either beep constant for about 3 Seconds or nothing at all happens. They don't have a radar beep on them. Where's the best place to start fault finding?

Ignition on on, in reverse and then listen to each sensor and those working will click, the faulty one will not.

You can get them from ebay, a pot of paint touch up and lacquer (thin coats) and then you can fit it.

The rear bumper doesn't have to come off, but all the mountings need to be unbolted so it can be moved far enough.

I fitted mine on my cooper s convertible in 20 mins. 20 all in.

Here's the how to I wrote

Had the same problem on my 07 Cooper S Convertible. Had it replaced for about 140 including labour.

Think on a Gen 1 MINI its under the bonnet on one of the suspension strut towers?
Find the chassis plate, either under the bonnet or in one of the door apertures it will have a code on there.
