Hesitant cold start pull away

Hi

I have a Gen 1 Mini cooper 1600 2004, I havenít had her for long, the dealer said that it would have a full service prior to my collection once I had paid for it
but I noticed that it is hesitant when pulling away from a cold start, have you come across this problem and do you know what the problem is, the dealer said that this is what a mini does.

Mines alittle wobbly around 2-3k rpm until the temp is up. It's possibly a supercharger foible as I seem to remember the Polo G40 we had some years ago had a similar trait until up to temp.

Hi ya

I could be a couple of things on your cooper, if you have access to a scan tool
get your O2 sensor checked out you only have one on the cooper, it will cause problems when cold and rough running poor idle etc and will not bring on the warning light.
The other could be a bad or scaled up water temp sensor these can also be checked easily

It could be something as silly as a dirty throttle body

Hope this helps

I had the same issue a few mornings where it would hesitate like it was misfiring for the first 25 feet, then it was fine. No codes or engine light.

Why is it when theres a problem with your car, you know isnt right, and you take it back to the garage they say "They all do that" even if they dont?

I think its only the ones they sell do it, because they only have the rubbish to sell?
