My wife complained that since she's had her caer teh interior light hasnt worked. So I went out and (finallly) had a look yesterday. Took out the bulb which looked okay but put the one out of my car in as I know that works. No light. Checked her bulb in my car and it works. Hmmm. Pressed the buttons on the reading lights and they both work. How odd.
Not sure about Gen 1 MINIs but is light switch in the right position? normally you can have them off all the time, on all the time, or on with the doors open.
Sadly yes, it doeenst matter what position the switch is in you can turn it on or get it to come on with the doors open? Just seems odd that power is there to the reading lights?
I thought it probably was a dodgy switch as it doesn't click in and out of position like the reading light ones do when you turn them on and off. So I (eventually) bought a supposed working 2nd hand one of ebay but its exactly the same. So before I back it can someone confirm your interior light switch clicks on and off as mine just spring in and out, if you see what I mean?
Many thanks
For the benefit of anyone searching the archives if your light isn't working, just push the main button and hold in for about 3 seconds and it will come on. It will then operate with the lock/unlock sequence as it should do.
can u be exact in what switch pls as nothing seems to work
