Passenger side not opening electronically

Hi from today onwards my passenger door on my 52 plate Mini One isnt locking or unlocking with the key or the button inside the car. The only way to unlock it is using the passenger side handle from inside the car. Does anyone know what this could be? Thanks in advance.

Hi ya

It's not a a hard job as long as you have the tools
If you take it to the garage it should only be about two hours max labour wise plus parts.
You could get a second hand one from a good breakers such as

http://www.minimatt.co.uk/bmw-mini-for-sale.html

http://www.bmspares.co.uk

http://www.minisparesuk.com

And I would also give the parts dept at your local mini a call sometimes there prices are good then get your guys to fit it

I would also get someone to have a look at the plug and wiring at the front of the door as well but it is normally the actuator

05 s convertible

the passenger side door will lock electronically, but won't un-lock except with the inside door latch. I've only had the car a few weeks and this has been the case since I got it. I heard something slide forward inside the door (I think) upon hard braking the other day.

Could something have just come off in the door?

Not very likely, it will most likely be the actuator/door lock mechanism they are a common fault on minis. New ones can be found on ebay for around 65 dont be tempted to get a 2nd hand one as you will probably end up with the same problem
