Cold, cold cold

Okay, Is anyone else having trouble with the cold weather?
At 16 and below my transmission is freezing and won't go in or out of gear until the motor is warmed up. Lisa

is this 16 C or F? there is nothing on your profile to indicate where you live so we can't tell.

the weather in Toronto has been around -10c (windchill -20C) for the last week or so but I have not had any problems. there are threads about people who have had their transmission (gearbox) freeze but it seems to be in the UK and I wondered if that was a combination of a lot of dampness then cold weather.

Check out Frozen Gearbox thread!

Your answer is new clutch cables. Bad seals on the cables allows moisture in which is freezing solid and until warm won't release.

A bunch of us mini 2ers have had the problem fixed and no problemo since!
