Remote central locking issue

Hello folks,

My r50 cooper is having some intermittent issues with the remote central locking.

Every now and again the key fob will not lock or unlock my car. Then if I try again later it works fine. I have tried my spare key at the time it's not working which does not work either so it can't be the batteries.

Any ideas what this could be?

Cheers

Could be where you park the car, does it always happen in certain places?
Mobile phone signals, masts, etc can interrupt the signal from your key and block it.
There used to be a place I visited where mine would not work either, but 100 yds down the road it was fine, I later found out there was a phone mast in a field across the road behind some houses and that was the reason.

Hi ya

It might be a bad receiver there are a few posts about them might be worth a look, have you had the windscreen replaced recently ?
