Help! Washer Fluid Leak!

The passenger side (LHD) is leeking washer fluid bigtime down behind the wheelwell. Will not hold. Gone from leaky to gushing over.

Anyone had this happen?

More importantly. Any leads how to get in there to tape it up for now? Yucky roads.

Going to dealer for 1,000 mile check up on the 10th. need a fix immediately.

Anyone get to the reservoir before? Know a link?

TIA

John

To get to the reservoir you need to remove the side panel - THis looks like the easiest panel on the car to remove but in fact ends up as one of the most difficult -

It is held in place by

1) A torx screw underneath the bottom edge (requires removal of sill!)
2) A bolt behind the side indicator (when removing the clip is at the back prise the FRONT out of the grommet else the clip will snap

3) A bolt at the back inside (you will JUST be able to se it when you remove the indicator (This bolt ONLY needs to be loosened IF you remove it you will need to remove a lot more to get it back in

WIth these removed the panel comes out(fiddly becuase it has U shaped brakect)and the resevoir is fully exposed / can be replaced

Hope that helps IF you do it yourself

Thanks Racer.

I don't think I have a choice. That's front and rear washer in some dismally wet salty muddy road conditions.

It is almost impossible to remove the sill covers wihtout breaking the clips which hold it in place be sure to order them in advance if you are hoping to complete the job in one day

Part No. 07 121 480 419 from memory I think 5 each side

BIGGO Thanks Racer.

Squeaked in for morning service tomorrow. Early AM. *yawn*

But they're better equipped to handle this.

Yay!

An hour at the shop and

no fix.

so i gotta go back wednesday and get the replacement installed. Get the inspection/oil change too if they decide NOT to go by the crazy computer figure. 10,000 is 10,000. I thought.

Racer, do you think you could get all that gear off the car and back on the car in an hour? MINI can.

Maybe just their call. Nice service though.

I really appreciate your help.
