2002 Mini One Auto - internal electrics???

***'s law, due to a benign brain tumour, I'm having to sell my beloved mini as I can no longer drive. Placed ad yesterday in Autotrader and had viewers round today! Went for test drive - no internal indicators showing, but they do work on the outside of the car, window won't auto up, air con not working, no central locking. Please can someone advise me on what the problem could be? A damsel in great distress xx

PS. Just sitting in bedroom with window open and I heard the mini unlock itself! Sure enough, went down and checked and it was unlocked. Had trouble manually locking again as each time I removed key, the doors unlocked again! Advice please. Thanks xx

Possibly moisture /damp in the BC1 (Body Control Module) or its cables/connectors....a common problem on early Mini's especially after heavy rain showers as recently.

New battery made no difference. Diagnostic check found a fault, but needs more testing to see what (400 spent so far)! Grrrrrrr all I want to do is sell it, I wanted 3000 and diagnostics centre have offered 1,800.

Drying out the BCU and its cables/connectors cures many of these problems....if not garage should send your BCU off for testing/repair to an ECU specialist repair company like:
Automotive ECU Testing - ECU Repair and Exchange

Select Country
