Hi,
Really need some help here with a steering pump DIY replacement.
I've gotten through what I thought were all the tricky bits but I've met a dead end on something that should be simple - I just can't get the suction/return hose to slide down far enough onto the pump's fitting.
Any tips - I've been pulling, pushing, applying power steering fluid as lube (eeek!) for ages now but it will only slide down about half way. I'm not happy clamping it where it is - I want to get it as close as i can to that lip near the bottom of the fitting.
02 Cooper - haven't been around here in a while as it has been running really well for a long time, this (inevitable) PS pump failure has come at bad time though. Any help greatly appreciated.
