All 3 lights were on as in topic.I have changed front offside wheel sensor which cured the ABS warning light.I have changed the 2 brake sensors which also cured the pad wear warning light.
But I cannot reset the tyre inflation warning light.
The light was at first a steady yellow light but since correcting the other issues the light has now gone to a blinking light .
I have tried all the ideas on this forum ie:checked pressures ..holding reset button...reset ecu etc etc...but still the light will not reset.
Has anyone else come across this problem.
The car is a MINI One 2003 and apart from this light blinking at me runs very well for it's age..
Just to add the problem is when holding the reset button nothing happens .It will not even reset .Are these reset buttons prone to failure if so is there a way to bypass the button reset by bridging the wires maybe just to see if this is the problem...Any Ideas ???
Did you fit an OEM siemans wheel speed sensor or a cheaper spurious one? I had this problem with a cheaper sensor and ended up replacing it for the more expensive OEM sensor to fix it
Hi Thanks for replying.I am not sure I had it fitted for me as well as the pad sensors..But it cured both of the other lights..I was just wondering shouldn't the tyre light still reset and maybe come back on if this was a fault. But I cannot even get the light to come on steady from the reset switch with key at pos 2....
Does the switch just bridge a connection and if so what wires in the switch would i need to bridge to take a faulty switch out of the equation....
if the wheel speed sensor is sensing a lower rotation speed on one wheel, it brings on the flat tyre warning light... I'm not exactly sure what computer it feeds through - just that I had the same problem after replacing a sensor with a cheap alternative.
Hi I understand what you are saying but surely the reset button should reset the light until I take to the road again in which case if the sensor was faulty it would bring up the warning light again. It is really bugging me now.Haha..
Right changed wheel sensor again for OEM one.Still the same problem..The reset button for tyre pressure warning light will not reset..Just flashes cannot get it to go solid to recalibrate.Come on guys surely someone else has had this same problem...
One thing I have noticed is when I turn ignition on the only light that comes on the rev counter display is the airbag warning light for a few seconds. Is this correct or should any other lights illuminate during the initial check..
Well I thought it may be the switch. The reset button illuminates when lights are on so I imagine the switch is getting power..There are as you prob know 3 wires going to the switch from what I can gather the reset switch acts as a ground signal to the BC1 module to tell the system to relearn the pressures of tyres.
Do you know which wire it is and maybe I could just ground that wire and see if it works to take the reset switch out of the problem...
Update...Had car connected to diagnostics no faults whatsoever..But still tpms light will not reset ..Think it might be open dash and silicon the light out if no one can come up with an idea...Helpppppp !!!!!!!!
Update All sensors ok..ABS Etc....Diagnostics show no faults..and yet tpms light will still not reset. When turn ignition on audible alarm and tpms light starts flashing..No matter how many times i press the button by handbrake nothing happens...i am going to commit suicide if someone cannot give me a remedy for this.i know all pressures on tyres are correct so it is a malfunction obviously and is still safe to drive but HaHa when i am driving my eyes are drawn to this bloody flashing light ..please someone put me out of my misery...!!!!
Have you tried disconnecting the battery for an hour or so? it might be worth a shot, cos sooner or later your gonna lose it and it will end up costing you more money and stress ::wink::, I say this from experience cos I have got a short temper you know
Yeh have tried that also did the ecu reset using trip button still no joy..I try the handbrake button every morning HaHa just in case but not having it..I think I may have to bite the bullet and take to BMW dealers ..I just thought someone on here would of had the same fault ..Cheers ...
I vote disconnect the battery for at least 24hours that way you will drain you power cell and will reset everything to factory setting.
I am having the same problem as you. My ABS, and tyre light have come on. I'm booked in to get the sensor changed and hoping this will clear it.
I'll keep you posted.
I also have a C110 diagnostic tool kit which picked up my issue and did not clear it.
Yeh Initially I had ABS on as well and after getting front right sensor changed it cleared the ABS light but still stuck with the tpms light....I will try the battery again you never know..Cheers ....
Gets stranger.....If i hold TPMS reset button to try reset tyre warning light and hold button in whilst starting the car ....ABS light will light for a second and then I have no power steering..No problem when starting car without button pressed...Something very weird going on HaHa !!!!
Right with ignition on should there be a slight electronic pulsating sound very faint coming from the ABS module electronics....Like a faint ticking sound pulsating in unison with the tyre warning light....You can only hear it when you are real close up to it.
