I am trying to figure out where to start.
Bought the JCW 2 months ago and slowly sorting her out..
Changed diverter valve
Need to replace the seal on plastic pipe from throttle to SC as it's do loose there appears to be no ..
Main issue is that there are no illuminating lights on the Speedo and rev counter is dead..
Checked the battery and all in order.. charges well and holding voltages spot on..
Also see that if I turn ignition off the rear brake lights stay on. So I need to turn on and off a few times before the lights stay off...
Any help in the regard to above issues would be appreciated. .

I'd be checking the Body Control Module in the R/H foot well for water ingress. Brake light and gauge illumination circuits run through that module, check the looms and the surrounding carpet for moisture. Failing that, there is evidence on this very forum that a faulty ignition switch can cause similar symptoms to the ones you describe.
Appreciate it sir.. Will have a stab at it tonight..
Not really seen much moisture anywhere.. I stay in South Africa.. So no real prolonged "wet season" so to speak.. But will check and trace the wires and loom etc..
I hear you on the "prolonged wet season", here in the UK we call it summer.
Do a search on here, there's plenty of previous posts where people had similar problems to yours. And don't forget to post your findings as it might help the next guy.
Thanx roadhog ...
As she isn't my daily drive I thunk I will strip her down.. have a few issues like boost dropping off etc..
Will check all the vac lines etc on IC is off..
I've downloaded BCI diagrams.. so will start at unit and test and trace each wire to find culprit. .
So after reading forums and hours and hours of it I decided "why not.." stripped the fromt seats out.. stripped lower panels.. dash.. pretty much if it was attached I loosens it and removed it..
Firstly removed fuse box and took it apart.. removed and replaced every fuse with new ones... .. Removed BCU took box apart.. everything looked in order.. seal was still clear and no sign of water ingress.. so too a soft copper brush.. brushed all the pins. . Undid wrapping on looms after reading g of the diode possibility.. found none.. so redid the wrapping g based on pics taken while stripping.. after 3 hours Mini was back together.. cleaned everything...
Moment of truth had arrived.. Co nected the battery.. key in ignition.. turned her on.. and omg.... rev counter showed signs of life.. lower display lights on Speedo on.. started her and rev counter worked.. could select and see display on rev counter.. happiness..
I think the sweat was well worth every nick and cut my hands endured so far...
Took her for a ride last night.. all good but only issue is no back light on cluster (speedo and rev counter).. so next step is to test the LEDs and see if there is power to them.. if there is power then the lights need changing. . If no power then I may scavenge a power source from near the cluster..
Am super happy right now having taken a little neglected JCW and made her well.. new sensors.. new diverter valve.. serviced SC.. cleaned injectors .. degreased all her intake pipes and IC.. for her power steering g running and changed out faulty PS piping..
Been a crazy 3 weeks.. but the end is in sight..
