I just bought a Mini Cooper its a 05 model CVT tranny, it does have a EP light on, what does that mean and what is the fix? Can he dealer fix it or do I need a new transmission? Also them I'm at cruising speeds (50-60 mph) the engine is sitting around 3000 rpm is that too high or is it normal? I've never had a CVT transmission before. Please help.

It's probably a software issue. Should be a relatively easy fix. Get it checked as soon as possible though since CVT failure can be enormously expensive.
