Alternator failed on me and had power steering, battery, DSC lights, check engine lights on. Changed the alternator and its charging. Power steering and battery light are off but still have check engine and DCS light on. What gives? 2004 mini cooper s
Have you got an OBD code reader?
It's the first thing to check really, the fault may not even be related to your alternator and it may be coincidental that your warning lights have come on.
You'll just be clutching at straws otherwise. ::wink::
Whereabouts are you? Maybe a nearby member can offer their help if you don't have the equipment to read codes?
Ok, so I found the problem. One of the wires going to the map sensor was ripped off and I fix that. The dsc light went off. But check engine light came back on again and went to autozone to get codes read. I got a P1612. Says something about a bad ground for instrument cluster. But all the gauges are working?
