I have a 05 mini that died yesterday after getting off the highway on my way to work. The first stop i made after getting off the highway... the car shut off. I then pushed it into a parking spot and it still won't turn over. Any ideas on what this could be?
A battery wouldnt be the cause there... My best guess is a fuel pump really because it shut off and would t start after i went back at idle. If its a fuel pump im not even going to bother trying to fix it.
If it wouldn't even turn over, can't be a fuel pump, but a flat battery, loose terminal , duff starter or alternator. If it turns over, cranks and won't start, then it could be anything, from fuel pump, coil pack, immobilizer to name a few things.
It cranks to the point where it will almost start. Thats why I feeling a fuel pump may be it. I have had also no symptoms prior to it being an alternator. Scapping isn't necessarily the best idea when determining to bring a car into a shop or fix it yourself...
Well you've been pretty vague with your description at the start of the thread so I think I will leave you too it
