Unless you have specific software, you wont be able to reset it even if you find the fault, your dealing with an explosive device that can be triggered and cause substantial injury without the correct training. This also encompasses legal requirements should faulty equipment be disabled or incorrectly repaired resulting in injury or death due to a collision. If its a bulb, it can be repaired depending if its a normal bulb or a surface mounted led. However, don't just assume a faulty bulb, find out if there are other issues causing a problem and have it sorted. Your a long time dead or maimed for the sake of a cheap quick fix to pass an NCT which is designed to prevent unsafe vehicles on the public highway/roads by minimum safety requirements. What's the price of your life or some one else's !
Maybe a bit more about the car,
We have the car 1 year it came with a valid NCT.
I never noticed the airbag light not working and since I have discovered it I WANT to get it repaired.
I am NOT interested in disabling / Bypassing the system.
My initial focus is, why is the warning light not working. (I dont have access yet to a diagnostic system)
If there is a fault with the airbag/ restraint system I WANT it repaired.
I am all too aware of the potential results of failed safety systems!
Don't go ripping your dash apart to check for blown bulbs just yet. Establish if the light is on first (even although it's not lit up). This may cost you to have it diagnosed but I'd have either a garage or someone with a decent reader to test the system.
