Radio volume not changing

2002 Mini One.

For a while now my radio volume button hasn't been changing the volume, just spinning endlessly. It still powers the radio on and off. Unfortunately, I don't have volume control on the steering wheel.

From what I understand the volume is controlled electronically which allows the button to spin forever. Do I need a new rubber knob, encoder or a new radio entirely in order to rectify the issue?

Thanks in advance.

Luke

Buy an after market radio. The OEM radios are utter pants. Good time to updgrade to a DAB/Bluetooth hands free unit with usb/ aux inputs

I fitted this unit to my car and can't complain. The sound quality is far superior to the oem rubbish and it pears with my phone and has hands free and is DAB too

Edit: you can also change the colour of the led display!

If you have the HK upgrade fitting an after market stereo is difficult as it is if you have factory satnav. Neither of those and it's a great solution.
