| Could something have been pressing on your key in a pocket or briefcase or something? Sounds like you somehow pressed the "open" button for a few seconds when leaving the car and it unlocked the car and started to open the windows with the "Convenience Open" feature of the remote. Now if you don't have convenience open enabled, just totally disregard what I just wrote. And - it could be the BC1 has just lost its mind, but would not be my first choice in reasons. Regards, Dave Gotten anything useful from MINI2? How about giving a little something back? '03 MCS BRG/W Anthracite Pkg 1,2,3 |

| A common issue (a search will bring you previous posts). Usually either - pressing on the key with comfort opening and not realising it. Or faulty BC1 unit. A search for 'christine' will bring a lot of information too. |

| Just a guess, but has it been raining or did you wash the car? There have been a lot of problems reported along these lines when water gets into a door lock and triggers the BC1. In the "good old days," when you turned the ignition off, everything was off. But now, with computer control of everything, the car goes into standby mode and all it takes is a drop of moisture in the wrong place to wake it up. Given the complexity of the electrical system, you can expect it to happen again. |

I recently had this problem as well. I first noticed the doors were unlocked when I could swear I locked them (much like you). Soon my MINI would not lock at all. I would press the lock button on the key or flip the lock toggle and my MINI would lock then unlock itself again (either immediately or within a few minutes). My dealer replaced my BC1 and that fixed the problem for a few days. Another MINI2 member (I think it was HarryIndiBlue) said his similar problem was fixed by replacing the driver's side door actuator, so I had my dealer do that too. Everything has been fine for over a month now. ![]() Good Luck! | I've sometimes wondered whether my car has been doing strange things with regard to locking. I must admit that going from a car with no central locking to remote central central locking sometimes has me forgetting to lock the car. However, there have been times when I've gone to the car in the morning to find that it's unlocked. It's only ever happened overnight, so I was wondering if it was temperature-related. It hasn't happened for a while, but then it hasn't been cold overnight for a while. At the moment, I'm putting it down to me being forgetful. |
