Green Cooper Loss of Power

All I have to say is Thank God for the Lemon Law!
What I do not understand is how can a company spend so much money on research & development, then totally loose it with customer service? Seems people are pretty tolerant of new car problems, but will not TOLERATE terrible service.

Thumbs down

AMEN!

I have had the much-documented "loss of power" problem (quite dangerous in higway traffic!) and my 2002 MC is now at New Country in Hartford, CT for the THIRD TIME.

EVERYONE from the local dealer hierarchy at New Country to corporate Customer Service has been a NIGHTMARE to deal with, and have been completely unhelpful in expediting getting my car fixed!

I have been without a working car since July 4th.

I am in the process of writing everything up and am thinking of persuing the CT Lemon Law, and am wondering where to turn next?

Keep in mind that I was one of the first Mini owners in my area, and have been a walking billboard for Mini Cooper for the past year, but now I have lost faith in the reliability of my own car, and moreso, BMW/Mini itself and its (un)willingness to stand behind their product.

So, Abbo, you more than have my sympathy...

Im with robrocke!

My wife and I were also one of the first to Purchase a mini in our area (also from New Country)and thier service SUCKS!!

We have had our Cooper S in for the loss of power thing twice in the past month and a half or so and it just did it again. (thirty minutes ago now)

with the # of times this has happened to many mini owners one would think that someone might have a clue as to the problem and the fix. the first instance of the porwe loss was an annoyance, The second time my wife almost got crushed between a semi and a motorhome getting onto I91 on one of those ramps that dump you into the hammer lane, and this time it just ****ed me off. our '91 mittsubeshi w/200+ thousand miles on it is more reliable than this!

sorry to see that abbo is a former mini owner. I love the car and it is a blast to drive. it rivals my Buell motorcycle ( www.Buell.com )in cornering in the twisties but I am getting fed up with the dealer issues.

Now that I think of iot not only has the service sucked but we have taken to photographing every inch of our mini before it goes in to the dealer since we have gotten it back twice with scratches!!

enough of a rant! I am going to take the mittsubeshi for a drive.

regards all,

Sean
