gearbox probs

I've been hearing a soft rattle coming from the engine of my S, but only when I'm in neutral, with the clutch engaged. When I disengage the clutch, it goes away. I went to my local dealer to get the oil changed today, so I mentioned it to them. Turns out, theres something loose in my gearbox, and their fitting a new one thursday!

Overall, though, I've been very satisfied with my S.

This sounds to me like the clutch release bearing is getting noisey but on the cooper s you do get a rattle kinda noise when you depress the cluch..pretty standard to gearbox ..
