Creaking/popping noise from dash or windshield...

It has been super hot the last few weeks, and that might account for this, but I keep hearing these tiny popping noises coming from the dash area or maybe around the windshield. It happens at any speed and I'm worried that I'm hearing sounds caused by stress and that my windshield is going to crack at any moment. IS that what I'm hearing? Anyone else have this and figured out what it was? I read a LOT of the windshield cracking posts, but didn't find any that mentioned any noises prior to the crack occuring.
