My clutch burns out and my steering column fails on me!!!
My clutch failed on me at 3am on friday, how safe. So I call BMW on call and they send out a flat bed truck to pick up the car. After 45min in the cold (2 degrees Celcius) they arrived and requested me to roll the car down the road and align it with the truck. Well in doing so the steering sounded as if it was crunching inside and I had to use a lot of pressure to turn it. Well yesterday BMW said they will have to replace the clutch and the steering colounm. It took two days to do the job and thank goodness I did not have to pay a cent.
But do I have bad luck or what?
Is the mini really that great? (In my eyes yes but on the job card NO)
However, I had a new column and new clutch on my Cooper too, so it's not totally a shock to me. I suppose it's better they go and get fixed all at once rather than one at a time?
I had covered 25000Km and the greatest thing is that I did not have to defend my driving skills or explain anything to anyone. They just did the job and the car feels much better. The clucth is such an improvment. Softer and easier to use
