| notone, Welcome to the board and congrats on the new voiture. Try doing a search on "yoyo". You should find a little information on the issue you are experiencing. Beat you too it Paul - I guess you have to sleep now and then. DS/W MCS 3/03 Awarded LEMON Status The yoyo is deemed to substantially impair the value of the car - by the FL Lemon Law. 4/14/04 In the end the LEMON squeezed itself so BMW can suck the juice. |

Picked mine up on Sept 18th.Yes mines doing it,though maybe not so pronounced as yours. I took it to the garage yesterday. They refuse to accept there's anything wrong with it.I'm at a bit of a loss as well I'm afraid.Seems to be a software problem for the ECU in the American versions. Is ours the same? Any luck sorting please tell me!!!!! |

| Hi there Sorry to hear you're having the same problems. I complained to my dealer and went out with the engineer who agreed it wasn't right. He said he needed to work on the "DME" or something and so they had the car for a day. When I collected it I drove up to your neck of the woods in Scotland to visit some friends and the problem was still there. Since my return I have phoned my dealer twice but they haven't returned my calls!!! I'm about to try again. At the time, the engineer said he had never heard or seen this problem before, so where that leaves me and all the others with the problem I simply don't know. If BMW were aware of the fault and were working on a fix I would have thought that they would at least let the Dealers know so that they could give their customers some sort of an answer. On the plus side, my dealer did manage to realign my bonnet which wasn't put on straight at the factory! However, my gear stick now rattles like a baby's pram when I go over 5K revs..... |

| "Well after a threatening letter requesting that my 03 MCS be replaced under the Ohio Lemon Law, I got the newest software that has not been released to the dealers and it actually FIXED the stumble. The low RPM 1st gear stumble is gone. No more waiting to pull out in traffic until there are NO cars coming. While I would have really enjoyed getting a new MINI, mine is just fine...FINALLLLLY! This is the newest update, not the issue 35 that recently hit the dealers. It does not have a release name/number yet, but has been tested in Arizona for the last 30 days or so. I just happened to bug them at the right time when the software was close enough to being released that they had it loaded to my DME/ECU. For all those out there that suffer, get in line, the software should be released soon and your dealer can upload it without shipping your DME off to MINI." I FOUND THIS REPLY ON ANOTHER ENTHUSIAST WEB SITE AND THOUGHT IT MIGHT HELP |
